Meg Dudley (Soprano)

Born: Denver, Colorado, USA

The American soprano, Meg Dudley, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Denver; and her Master of Music degree from Mannes College.

Lauded by Opera News for her “sparkling voice,” Meg Dudley is quickly garnering attention in both the operatic and concert arenas. She recently joined Mastervoices at Carnegie Hall in J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion (BWV 245); the Bard Music Festival in Cherubini's Nemo gaudeat, Puccini’s Salve Regina and Antonio Vivaldi’s Lauda Jerusalem; the West Village Chorale in Francis Poulenc’s Gloria; the Berkshire Bach Society for A. Vivaldi’s Gloria in D Major and Jan Dismas Zelenka’s Magnificat; the Hudson Valley Singers for J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244) and Robert Schumann’s Der Rose Pilgerfahrt; the Colorado Ballet for Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, the Colorado Music Festival for Bruckner’s Mass No. 3 in F Minor; and St. George’s Choral Society in Bach’s Requiem (?), F. Poulenc’s Gloria and Arthur Honegger’s Le Roi David.

Other recent performances include Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Anna Nicole with New York City Opera at BAM; Mascagni’s Iris, Dame Ethel (Mary) Smyth’s The Wreckers, and Taneyev’s Oresteia at Bard Summerscape; W.A. Mozart's Mass in C minor with St. George’s Choral Society; J.S. Bach’s Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen with the Mannes Baroque Orchestra; Samuel Barber’s Knoxville Summer of 1915, and Felix Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the Lamont Symphony Orchestra; Haydn’s Creation with New York Virtuoso Singers; Ligeti’s Requiem with The Collegiate Chorale; and Arnold Schoenberg’s Kol Nidre with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Some of her operatic roles include Bertha in Carl Maria von Weber’s Euryanthe, Pamina and Queen of the Night in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore, Norina in Don Pasquale, Donna Anna in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, Micaëla in Georges Bizet's Carmen, and Patience in Patience.

An avid performer of contemporary music, Meg Dudley was a featured soloist at the John Cage Centennial Celebration, as well as performing with NYC based contemporary groups such as Contemporaneous, the Martha Graham Dance, and the Mise-en Ensemble.

Meg Dudley joined the Lorelei Ensemble for the 2017-2018 season. Additionally this season (2017-2018) she joined Princeton Pro Musica, the Monmouth Civic Chorus, the Hudson Valley Singers, the VOX Ensemble, the Taghkanic Chorale, New York Polyphony, Saint George’s Choral Society, David Lang’s Mile Long Opera, and Manhattan Concert Productions in a performance of Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass in Carnegie Hall.
