Patricia Cifuentes (Soprano)

Born: June 28, 1975 - Chile

The Chilean soprano, Patricia Cifuentes, studied at the Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de Chile with Maestro Fernando Lara, obtaining her Degree with maximum distinction. She was awarded with prizes such as: Altazor Prize for her role Gilda in the opera Rigoletto by G.Verdi performed at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago in 2011; Apes Prize for her leading role as Lucia in the opera Lucia di Lammermoor by G.Donizetti; Award from the Asociación de Círculo de Críticos de arte de Chile for the most outstanding female opera figure of the year 2005; First Chilean to win the International Singing Competition Dr. Louis Sigall. She later obtained Diploma in Cultural Management at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Class of 2022)

Patricia Cifuentes' quality as an artist has led her to address various styles within the National and Latin American stages, as well as Baroque Music, Lied, Chanson, Operas and Operettas. She participated in the production of the albums "Poliedro" (contemporary music) and "Mestiza" by the prominent guitarist Mauricio Valdebenito, in 2018 she launched her first record production called "Patricia Cifuentes - soprano" together with the Chilean pianist Leonora Letelier and an octet of Cellos from the Orquesta Filarmónica y Foji of Chile.

Patricia Cifuentes is currently one of the most important figures of the Lírica Nacional and serves as coordinator of the Singing Career of the Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de Chile and conducts master-classes throughout the country.

Patricia Cifuentes' performances in recent years include his participation in G. Rossini's Stabat Mater, L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 (Soprano solo), Carl Orff's Carmina Burana (Soprano solo), G. Donizetti's Lucia de Lammermoor in the role of Lucia, G. Ligeti's Le Grand Macabre in the role of Gepopo, W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro in the role of Susanna, W.A. Mozart's Great Mass in C minor and Vesperae solennes de confessore (Soprano soloist), among others. She currently lives in Rancagua, Chile.
