Sophia Cheung (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Chinese, Sophia Cheung, was awarded both academic and music scholarships to Roedean School (1991-1995).

Sophia Cheung's stage experience includes the title role of Rossini's La Cenerentola, Hansel in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel & Gretel, and Octavian in R. Stauss' Die Rosenkavalier, in concert performances on the title role of Georges Bizet's Carmen, Dido in Cavalli's L'Egisto, Mrs. Quickly in Verdi's Falstaff, Despina in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan tutti. Concert performances have included J.S. Bach's B minor Mass (BWV 232), J.S. Bach's Cantata BWV 80, and a recital in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
