Kammerchor Buchsgau (Chamber Choir)

Founded: 1982 - Gäu, Canton of Solothurn, Switzerland

The "Buchsgau", the old name of the area between Olten and Wangen an der Aare, lends its name to the Kammerchor Buchsgau. Paul von Arb, a passionate church musician, founded the choir in 1982 (then called the "Buchsgauer Kammerchor") and with it created an oratorio music tradition in rural Gäu that lasted for ten years and was widely recognized throughout the canton.
