The Dutch baritone, Robert Brouwer, started his singing training at the age of 10 at the Koorschool Noord Nederland and was admitted to the Roder Jongenskoor at the age of 11. As a boy soloist he sang, among other things, the role of Third Boy in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the Nationale Reisopera under the direction of Ton Koopman. After his voice change, he quickly won one of the four places for bass-baritone in the Roder Jongenskoor. He graduated in singing from the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, where he studied with Lenie van den Heuvel and continued his studies at the Utrecht School of Arts.
Robert Brouwer made his debut in 2011 as Aeneas in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas with Opera Mosset. He regularly performs solo, including in the Requiem by Maurice Duruflé and Gabriel Fauré, George Frideric Handel's Messiah and various J.S. Bach cantatas. |
