Anna Bridgman (Soprano)

Born: Liberty, Missouri, USA

The American soprano, Anna Bridgman, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Missouri-Columbia (2009-2013); and her Master of Music degree in Opera Performance from The Boston Conservatory (2014-2016). She received an Encouragement Award in the 2015 Kansas City District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and won the Music Teacher’s National Association Young Artist Vocal Competition in 2014.

Anna Bridgman has appeared as Mrs. Gobineau in The Medium and covered the role of Micaëla in Georges Bizet's Carmen with PORTopera. Other roles include Countess Almaviva in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Violetta Valéry in La traviata, Anne Trulove in Igor Stravinsky's The Rake’s Progress, Susannah Polk in Susannah, Lady Billows in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring, Fiordiligi in W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte, and Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow.

Anna Bridgman has performed with PORTopera, Boston Conservatory Opera, Opera Company of Middlebury (OCM), Seagle Music Colony, University of Missouri-Columbia, and Houston Grand Opera Young Artist Vocal Academy. At the University of Missouri-Columbia she sang Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte; Alidora in La Cenerentola; Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow. At the Boston Conservatory Opera she performed the roles of Anne Trulove in The Rake's Progress, Violetta Valéry in La traviata, and Countess in Le nozze di Figaro under the tutelage of Dr. Rebecca Folsom. At Houston Grand Opera Young Artist Vocal Academy (2014) she sang Susannah in Susannah with Seagle Music Colony. At the Opera Company of Middlebury (2016) she sang the 2nd Lady in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte In summer 2017, she was a featured Young Artist with Opera Maine, formerly PORTopera. In fall 2017, she returned to Sarasota Opera as a featured Resident Artist.
