Maria Boixadera (Mezzo-soprano, Contralto)

Born: April 23, 1981 - Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain

Maria Boixadera Ibern holds an official llicenciatura degree in Catalan Language and Literature from the Universitat de Barcelona (2000-2006), and a postgraduate course in Language Correction and Support in Catalan from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2007-2008).

Maria Boixadera is a Scholar Publishing Specialist with a creative attitude to problem solving and management. In the course of her career, she has specialized in the field of quality, standards and policies, and editorial strategies for digitally published academic and general interest journals, which has required her to master the tools, programming languages and content managers for this type of editorial product. She has more than ten years of experience in content strategy, corporate communication and STM Publishing in online media. She has worked as Publishing Coordinator at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) since July 2004. In her current position as Scholar Publishing Coordinator at the Library of the UOC (since May 2021), her recent challenge has been the definition of the digital transformation plan for the Book Publishing House of the University. She developed the analysis of the current business as is and come out with a new business plan and a three-year transformation plan oriented to flip and pivot to a data driven and a digital business unit.

Maria Boixadera is also a mezzo-soprano/contralto singer. She received Private Singing Lessons as Mezzo-soprano/Contralto in Advanced, Voice and Opera (2009-2023), including Voice master, Italian technique for Barroque, Classic, Romantic Lieder, opera and oratorio repertoire; and obtained her Master’s Degree in Interpretation of Lied from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) in Barcelona (2016-2018), including Interpretation of Lied repertoire: poetry, music, voice coaching, Lied history, German and French phonetics, Lied repertoire in Spanish, Catalan, German and French cultures. She is a member of Bach Collegium Barcelona (Director: Pau Jorquera). Her personal interests are: The pursuit of the arts, including classic music and singing, acting, writing, painting and ceramics. She currently lives in Pineda de Mar, Catalonia.
