Carolina Barca (Soprano)

Born: Spain

The Spanish soprano, Carolina Barca, began her musical studies with the Italian maestro Enrico Marmor. Later she specialized her singing studies with María Ángeles Garcerán, Carmen de Lucas, and at the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid with María Aragón and repertoire with the famous maestro Miguel Zanetti. Today she continues perfecting her vocal technique and repertoire with the teachers Vicente Laferla and mezzo-soprano Ana María Iriarte. In 2005, she was a finalist at the International Competitions of Treviso (Italy) and at the International Hariclea Darclee Festival (Romania) - invited by the soprano Mariana Nicolesco.

Carolina Barca has offered symphonic recitals and concerts for the Fundación Carlos de Amberes, Fundación Amigos de la Ópera, Asociación Pro Género Lírico Español, Ateneo de Madrid, Auditorio Nacional and Círculo de Bellas Artes De Madrid, premiering and performing works by various Spanis composers in collaboration with the La Sociedad General de Autores de España (SGAE). In her operatic repertoire there are titles such as Lakmé, L'Enfant et les Sortilèges, Les Contes D`Hoffmann, Charles Gounod's Romeo et Juliette, W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, W.A. Mozart's Die Enthührung aus dem Serail, W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, The Sleepwalker, Rigoletto, Leonard Bernstein's Candide, among others.

Carolina Barca has starred in several productions of Opera and Zarzuela as the opera theater Morgana Le Fay based on the Opera The King Arthur (H. Purcell), Amahl and The Night Visitors (G. Menotti), L'Elisir D'Amore, Don Pasquale (G. Donizetti), The Barber of Seville (Nieto and Jiménez), Chateau Margaux (M. Fernández Caballero), Luisa Fernanda (F. Torroba), La Tabernera del Puerto (P. Sorozábal), carried out in theaters inside and outside the Spanish geography under the direction of conductors like Marco Balderi, David Amitín, Mariano Alfonso and Andrés Juncos, among others. At the same time her artistic activity develops in the contemporary theater field composing and interpreting pieces for plays, soundtracks for the documentary genre in TVE, short films and audiovisual projects in the Community of Madrid.
