Blake Balmaseda (Baritone)

Born: Newberg, Oregon, USA

The American baritone, Blake Balmaseda, is a sophomore music education major at University of Oregon School of Music and Dance. In January 2020, he sang the role of Count Robinson with the University of Oregon Opera Ensemble in both shows of Domenico Cimarosa's Il Matrimonio Segreto. Although he has a heavy theatre background, this was his operatic debut. He has loved working with University of Oregon Opera so much that he later sang with the chorus for Eugene Opera's production of Tosca in March 2020. In March 2021, he sang with them the role of Melisso in selections from George Frideric Handel's Alcina. He likes eating copious amounts of pizza and sitting on the floor of his apartment in his free time.
