The Portuguese soprano, Ana Atalaya, started attending Music lessons in her hometown of Santarém when she was 10 years old. She started playing the Clarinet. In 2004, she won the 2nd Prize at the International Clarinet Competition (Tomar, Portugal, 2004). Between 2001 and 2010, she occupied the positions of 2nd and then 1st Clarinet in the Orquestra Típica Scalabitana (Santarém, Portugal). Her voice studies began at the school Canto Firme (Tomar, Portugal). She finished her diploma of Singing basic studies at the school Conservatório de Música de Santarém (Santarém, Portugal) with a classification of 19 points out of 20.
After finishing high-school, Ana Atalaya applyed to Medicine. She was accepted in Faculdade de Medicina de Lisboa at the University of Lisbon (Portugal). After two amazing years, her love and dedication to music made her decide that she would pursue a career as a singer. She began her Undergraduated studies at Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas (Castelo Branco, Portugal). On that first year, she received an award for Best Student of the Year and she was selected to be the soloist soprano in the Comemorations of Portugal’s Day. She obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Singing from Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo in Porto, Portugal. She studied then one year in Conservatoire de Musique de Liège (Liège, Belgium), and then studied for her Master of Music degree in Baroque Singing with the teacher Ulrike Hofbauer at the prestigius Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (2015-2017). |
