Melissa Arning (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: Walled Lake, Michigan, USA

The American mezzo-soprano, Melissa Arning, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice from Cleveland Institute of Music (2000-2004).

Melissa Arning is a frequent performer of both oratorio and opera since 2004. She has appeared with the Main Street Opera, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, North Shore Chamber Arts Ensemble, Dekalb Festival Chorus, Petite Opera, Music by the Lake, Chamber Opera Chicago, Chicago Folks Operetta, Opera for the Young, the Grant Park Chorus, Music of the Baroque, Chicago (Director: Jane Glover), William Ferris Chorale, Cleveland Opera, and Lyric Opera Cleveland.

In addition to her singing activities, Melissa Arning has worked as Teacher at Gymboree Play & Music in Greater Cleveland Area (July 2004-November 2006); Voice and Piano Teacher at Allegro Music and Dance Academy in Greater Chicago Area (March-September 2007); Assistant Conductor of Choir Academy Charter School of Chicago (August 2007-June 2008); Administrator/Teacher at JCC of Chicago (August 2008-September 2011). She currently lives in Chicago, Illinois.
